Purim, the Blood Moon & Signs of the End Times

As the story goes, which you will find in the Book of Esther within the pages of the Tanakh also known as the Old Testament, Esther’s uncle Mordechai, who had raised her after the death of her parents, refused to bow down to a prideful and evil man named Haman. So Haman, who had made his way to the upper echelons of Persian society, set out on an elaborate scheme to wipe out all the Jews in Persia. Haman had determined when he would carry out his dark and depraved plan, by casting lots, which was a form of divination in ancient times, hence the name Purim was established. But not only were his plans not realized, because God had strategically placed Esther in the palace making her the Queen of Persia, and through her touched the heart of the king, so that he was willing to listen to her pleas for her people and respond. In fact the plot against the Jews so enraged the king that he decreed that Haman and his ten sons would hang on the very gallows that had been built for the Jews! On the other side of this whole ordeal 500 men who had animosity towards God’s people had perished, and the Jews, who had previously been considered low members of Persian society, were exalted to the status of ROYALTY! 

Therefore, this is an incredible time of year across the globe, when many of the Lord’s people celebrate the way the God TURNS the tables on the enemy, just when it seems all is lost. 

Now, stay with me here, because this is what I find especially interesting about this particular Purim. There will be a Blood Moon visible to the United States, cascading across the sky at 2:59 a.m. EDT, in those early morning hours of March 14th. Some say that this is a prophetic sign of the End Times unfolding before our eyes, as we haven’t see a total lunar eclipse since approximately three years ago during November of 2022. But what I find even MORE fascinating is that a year from now we’ll see this again! That’s right, during Purim in 2026, which will fall on March 3rd we’ll have yet another Blood Moon. Wow, what are the odds?!?

So understanding what this feast represents, in that it is a celebration of God overturning the plans of the enemy, and setting His people on their feet better off than they were before, I think we’re going to see a HUGE turnaround in many of the situations where the enemy thought he’d won. 

So if you are standing amidst daunting circumstances, and it feels like there is no hope, don’t forget that we serve a SUPERNATURAL GOD that is in the miracle business, and He LOVES to skid in at the last minute and do what ONLY He can. That’s right, I think this is going to be a SEASON of VICTORY for the people of God, like the world has never seen.
